This is a great post Johanna. The story about walking the man walking around the rectangle is an excellent reminder that all of us need someone to walk along side as we navigate life and especially when we are dealing with a crisis, grief or some other difficult event. Many times, we benefit greatly simply from having a companion on the journey. S/he does not have to offer advice or counsel – their presence is enough.
We also need to play along the way.

Animals are a great treatment option with those that may have a physical or mental illness. They offer comfort and are able to relax people. It is amazing the way that they can connect with people with special needs.
